Meet The Children’s Day Preschool
Children’s Day Preschool opened its doors in 1893 and has continuously served the ever-changing immigrant population of Passaic, New Jersey since. The preschool and family center educates and cares for over 117 children in the same red brick building in which it was founded.
A few years ago, the main administrative office was renovated to an “open office” style workspace consisting of four desks. However, the open office layout created noise levels which were too loud and unmanageable. Additionally, the lack of privacy for conversations between families and employees proved to be a challenge as well.
Enter SKUTCHI Designs
SKUTCHI Designs was recommended to Executive Director Sue Dannemiller by a board member of the preschool. Thankfully, Sue found us to be the best solution for their problem. After contacting one of our project managers—and going over layouts and needs—we were able to draw up designs for two enclosed office suites utilizing our Sapphire Cubicle Wall System.
This modular cubicle wall system features heights of 7’, 8’, or 9’ feet tall. They are demountable, which means they don’t require any permanent attachment to the floors. The Sapphire Cubicle Wall System used also featured tempered glass panels and sliding acrylic doors.
As an added layer of controlling ambient noise, the client chose to add a row of eSCAPE acoustic panels to the middle of their modular wall which separates the two offices. The lightweight and dense material we use for our eSCAPE wall panels dampens the noise while adding a splash of color to the new offices.
Sue says that she and her staff are in a much better space thanks to SKUTCHI Designs. A process that took approximately 90 days, from start to finish.
